The Create Columbus Commission announced their second round of grant funding, following the successful launch of the new program last fall. Programs are funded based on their ability to engage a young professional audience in civic affairs and community involvement.

“The Create Columbus Commission Grant Program is designed to support innovative thinking by some of the city’s most talented minds,” said Create Columbus Chair Kevin Tyler. “We are excited to elevate the influence of young professionals and help create a Columbus that is successful for everyone.”

Over $60,000 was given out to eight initiatives during the first round of funding, which included projects from Besa, Community Research Partners, Transit Columbus, Capital Crossroads and others.

“The first round of the Create Columbus Grants program was wildly successful,” said Mayor Michael B. Coleman. “Once again, these grants will give young professionals in our community the unique opportunity to shape the Columbus in which they want to live, work, and play.”

The second round of grants seeks to distribute $80,000 to applicants. The application deadline is April 28th at 5pm.
