On one side of the new Grange Insurance Audubon Center, the windows overlook nothing but nature: trees, green space and the Scioto River. On the other, the view captures the skyline of the 16th-largest city in the United States.

Built in the new 84-acre Scioto Audubon Metro Park, the center will open Friday after six years of planning involving the city of Columbus, Metro Parks and Audubon Ohio.

I take my daughter down there about once a week to throw rocks in the river. We went there to watch RW&B and it was not too crowded, they (rangers) monitor the parking and close Whittier once it gets too full.  We parked in German Village (Mohawk St)  and walked over, no traffic to deal with at all. Next year we will probablly just ride our bikes. I cannot wait!! I take my daughter down there about once a week to throw rocks in the river.

After they cleared out a lot of the overgrown areas, and razed those couple of unused warehouse buildings it really opens up an awesome view of the skyline from the center. Makes me wish I would have known about it a few weekends ago for Red White & Boom.
