Popular Morse Road-original restaurant Momo Ghar has joined the North Market, bringing with them their well known Himalayan veggie and meat dumplings, or momos. Expected to open in early September, Momo Ghar will neighbor Lan Viet and sit across from Nida’s Sushi.

“We are truly delighted to welcome Momo Ghar to our merchant community and to fill our only remaining vacant stall!” said North Market Executive Director Rick Harrison Wolfe in a press release. “Showcasing the cultural and culinary diversity of Central Ohio is very important to our mission, no other restaurant has been praised more over the last year in this city, these folks truly are best in class.”

Momo Ghar was chosen just this year as one of Yelp’s top 100 places to eat in the United States, the only restaurant from Ohio to make the list. Co-owner Phuntso Lama uses her own recipes to build the momos and side dishes. She and her husband Pramod make everything from scratch, “just like they make it at home.”

Along with momos they’ll offer spicy sauces and Nepali dishes like Baara, a lentil cake, and Chhoila, spicy grilled chicken served with black-eyed peas and crispy rice. Milk Tea, a British blend tea that’s popular in Nepal, will be available as well.
