Mark Swanson, owner of the new MoJoe Lounge in German Village, hopes his new establishment is another “hangout” for area residents.

Columbus’s third MoJoe Lounge, which is housed at the former site of Caterina, was expected to opens its doors early this week. The business is adjacent to Cup O’Joe, 627 S. Third St.

“It’s not a fine restaurant; it’s a lounge were people can hang out,” Swanson said. “It’s a hangout in German Village.”

  • I

    am

    happy.

I see myself walking there often.

  • I went to the preview last night. Nice space and very inviting. The food was good. It will be a nice addition to the German Village Area for casual dining and hanging out with friends.

  • Pumped about this. Will be checking it out ASAP. Nice that they even have more beers on tap too.

  • I can’t wait to use the patio once the weather gets nice. Cocktails+patio=favorite summer passtime.

  • This and Pistacia pretty much rounds out the neighborhood amenities. I’ll be there this weekend for sure.

  • I was there last night as well. Nice, intimate space. The free food last night couldn’t be beat as well.

  • Went there for a light dinner tonight. Great atmosphere. Excatly what I look for in a bar/lounge. Very relaxed and a nice fireplace!

  • Is it exactly like the one on the Cap, or is it different in some way? I live in the area, just need to take the time to visit. I do so enjoy the one on the Cap for relaxed studying.

  • So I dropped into the new MoJoe last night with the pater for a beer after the hockey game, and I’m really happy. It’s just right… nice space, fireplace lounge area, a couple flat screen TVs for football, and just the same low key vibe as the one on the Cap.

    It’s perfect.

(Didn’t have any food yet though, so I’ll have to report on that later.)

The patio umbrellas will soon close on street-corner bistros, but there’s nothing better than a warm cup of coffee to help people savor the last days of open-air lounging. At MoJoe Lounge’s tree-lined patio in German Village, patrons can sip Cup O’ Joe java or kick things up a notch with one of the bar’s many coffee-tinged cocktails.

“We get people caffeinated in the morning and inebriated at night,” joked Jeremy Hite, coffee shop and bar general manager.

MoJoe Lounge joined the Cup O’ Joe next to the Book Loft less than a year ago. Like its low-key neighbors, the German Village bar emanates a relaxed, friendly vibe. Inside MoJoe, music plays softly over conversations from thirtysomethings nestled at the arched bar and in nearby cafe-style seating. Creamy yellow walls are broken up by black-and-white photos, flat-panel TVs and a fireplace.

  • I love the German Village Mojoe…it’s new to the area but no doubt it will become a staple…very intimate and the perfect local spot.  Short North is also great…lots of energy there and great food.  The two spots are definately great in their own way…good job.
