Mikey’s Late Night Slice to Serve the Newport Music Hall

By: Walker

Mikey’s Late Night Slice and PromoWest Productions have jointly announced a new partnership today. Starting on Tuesday, September 13th, Mikey’s will become the official food provider for the Newport Music Hall, located at 1722 North High Street, across from OSU.

“I am very excited about our new partnership with Mikey’s Late Night Slice at Newport Music Hall,” said Becky Long, Senior Director of Sales & Marketing for PromoWest Productions. “For the last 28 years, the Newport has become a primary component to the Ohio State University’s diverse student culture and connecting to a locally owned business only strengthens that connection.”

Late Night Slice has grown significantly during their two years in operations. With locations established in The Short North, Clintonville and inside Woodlands Tavern in the Grandview area, along with their mobile pizza truck operation, the Newport deal adds another location into their rapidly growing list.

“Everyone here at Late Night Slice couldn’t be more excited about our new partnership with Promowest Productions,” said Mikey Sorboro, founder of Late Night Slice. “We have been in talks about doing something for the last year, and finally the timing and offer was right.”

“Two great Columbus brands under one legendary roof will really create an amazing place to see live music,” he added.

  • Awesome!!!! That’s all I can say about that!!!

  • I associate Mikey’s in the ‘late night after drinking’ comfort food category (ie drunk food) and I think it fits Newport to a tee. He knows his niche and clearly has the savvy to capitalize upon it. I kind of wonder what it will cost per slice there?

  • too bad this is the best news to come out of the newport in decades. waste of an amazing venue. #kottonmouthkings

  • Are you saying they don’t bring in enough bands that you like? Or that the venue is underutilized in some other way? Always seems pretty busy to me.

  • I might be lamenting at a larger problem because I thing CBus has always suffered (to varying degrees at different points in time) from being in between Cleve, Cincy, Indy, Pitt. That said, the Newport is an amazing building with a storied past and I’m glad to see Mikey’s in there and kudos for Promowest for not just going out and getting something typical like Donatos. Now if they can just get those bounces to ease up a little and retire Red Wanting Blue… ;)

  • So this will be a permanent LNS location, not a truck? I didn’t realize Newport had a kitchen.
