    MegaWeekend – The Arts Come Alive This Weekend!

    It’s the first weekend in February, and there is a myriad of galleries and art exhibitions to enjoy as well as Gallery Hop. Whether you love the orchids at Franklin Park Conservatory, I Felt, You Paint at the Columbus Cultural Arts Center, or whether you prefer to catch performing artists in Aida in Concert with the CSO and Opera Columbus, there’s plenty to enjoy!

    Thursday, February 1st: 

    Learn how to keep bees and make this year a buzz with The Beekeeper’s Year.  Visit the Arts Scholars Exhibition 2018, and then head over to the CMA to view Botanical Wonders: Flower Quilts. Don’t miss Tim Harding “Shining Seas” at Sherrie Gallerie. Turn up the volume with Promowest and San Fermin, presented by WCBE. Check out I Felt, You Paint at the Cultural Arts Center, and then enjoy Lines/Edges: Frank Stella on Paper and Pair: Glen Baldridge and Alex Dodge. If you’re in Worthington, don’t forget to stop by Highline Coffee for Brittni Hall: Abstracts. Plus, CCAD’s Beeler Gallery has a new Director of Exhibitions and special exhibition on display: How well do you behave? Check out what’s playing at The Gateway Film Center, and then walk through their gallery to enjoy “VLNS NVR DIE,” by Columbus artist Grant Gilsdorf. Take in a juried collection of art quilts and fabric arts like no other at Quilt National 2017, then stop by The Franklin Park Conservatory to see Orchids: Utopia and an exhibition on display through February. Celebrate Black History Month with The CML, and visit OSU to learn about cartoons and comics at Looking Backward, Looking Forward: U.S. Immigration in Cartoons and Comics and the Cartoon Couture Exhibition. It’s time to party with Umphrey’s McGee Pre-Party with West End Blend. Take a bite and share a pint for a good cause at Dogs N’ Drinks for Directions. Looking for a new piece of artwork for your home?
