    Mega Summer Weekend 2014 – Vol. 5

    Happy Weekend! Have you been out in the parks? Another bison baby was born! And there’s magical tiny doors popping up (although maybe they’ve always been there and now they’re finally visible to humans?)     Check out the Pre-Pride Comedy Show at Stage Left Lounge. Oliver’s has opened Downtown in Lynn Alley. Bexley’s Main Event shows Wall-E. Go on a Pub Run with the Short North Running Club. The Wex Drive-In’s begin with Bottle Rocket. Shepherd Production’s continues Betrayal. It’s the last week for Always…Patsy Cline with CATCO. The Summer Movie Series presents Bullitt tonight. Big Voice: Ethel Merman Experience opens at the Van Fleet Theatre. Yelp is putting on a CBUS Stop Hop. Taste 20 wines for $20 at a Pride Kickoff Party at Wine On High. Actors’ Theatre continues Hamlet in Schiller Park. Shadowbox Live presents Bigger Than Jesus. Clippers take on Buffalo Bisons.

    Friday
    Pride Festival begins. See ‘Queers Through the Years‘ at Wall Street. Attend Silky Pride. Go on the Glo-Run. Available Light Theatre continues performances of Leaving the Atocha Station. Enjoy your lunch on the Statehouse Lawn with Summer Fridays music series. The Columbus Symphony presents Popcorn Pops at Columbus Commons, and the park will be showing Frozen afterward. See Best of Shadowbox Live. Actors’ Theatre is at Easton for a show. Fright Club is at the Drexel with Funny Games. Are you seeing Beck at the LC? Damn Girl is at Strongwater. The Drexel also starts their Kid Fest Summer film series with Babe. Columbus Furniture Revival is going custom and closing down their store front, items are on sale. Andy Shaw Band is at Brothers Drake. Summer Movie Series presents The Woman. Jo Koy is at the Funny Bone all weekend. Scioto Mile become Rhythm on the River. Creekside Blues and Jazz Festival begins.

    Saturday
    Pride Parade begins Downtown at 11am. Enjoy Cartoon Capers at the Ohio Theatre through Summer Movie Series. SouthStage Music Scene has their first show featuring Hazardous. Go to Zoofari. Crafternoons returns to OSU Urban Arts Space. Columbus Historical Society shows you the city’s history by bus tour. LeBoom is back at Skully’s with MartyParty and Heavy Grinder. Picnic with the Pops features Ben Folds. Taste some beers at Whole Foods on Lane Ave. Attend The Big Pitch! Zauber hosts Taste of the World and World Cup viewing. Summer Movie Series presents On the Town, Saturday and Sunday. Watch the Ohio Roller Girls take on Queen City Roller Girls. The MAC in Worthington hosts a free summer pops concert.

    Sunday
    Yarn It and Haberdashery has their Grand Opening Party! Shadowbox Live opens Reefer Madness. Find some treasures at the Columbus Art and Vintage Marketplace at the Aladdin Shrine. It’s Summer of Riesling at House Wine. Merion Village hosts the neighborhood Garden Tour. Barley’s has their 19th Annual HomeBrew competition. Replenish Spa hosts a Summer Harvest Open House. Olde Towne East’s Music in the Park presents The Bryden String Trio. Market Flea returns to North Market. Take a tour of Harmonious Homestead, through the OEFFA summer tour series. National Theatre Live returns to the Gateway Film Center with the Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. Go on a relaxing Canoe Trip or Kayak Trip on the Olentangy River.
