McCain, Palin tour Ohio

Republican John McCain kicked off a flurry of presidential campaign stops in battleground Ohio this week with a rally yesterday in northeastern Ohio, pledging that he’ll deliver on his promises while charging that Democrat Barack Obama’s record doesn’t match his rhetoric.
McCain, traveling with running mate Sarah Palin, addressed a boisterous crowd at the Walter F. Ehrnfelt Recreation and Senior Center near Cleveland.
The Alaska governor — greeted yesterday with chants of “Sarah! Sarah!” — noted the “warm and strong welcome here in Strongsville,” with a crowd of about 1,500 packed into a sweaty gym and about 3,500 watching on video from an overflow area.

What is Palin?
Pit bull with lipstick
I wonder if that lady (who kept popping up) realized how she looked.
ugh. That video made me sooo happy that I live in Columbus (and not a place like Strongsville). Not that Columbus doesn’t have people like that, but the metro area (like most) will be solidly in the blue column on Election Night.
Wow. Just wow.

Strongsville will probably be more blue than Columbus.
Darn! I won’t be able to see either of them. What a loss!
Well it appears that the McCain Palin card has the “stupid vote” won. Notice they won’t come to Columbus anytime soon.
What does it say about things that I’m not angered by the posted video? Nor surprised, or even disappointed. Just sad, really. I was outraged by Pat Buchanan, Phil Gramm & Co. back in the ’92 RNC. Now, I just go about my own business, which is probably for the best.
They were both at a rally at Capital University two weeks ago. So it’s technically Bexley, not Columbus, but in the midst of Columbus none-the-less. Palin is due back in a few days. Declaring all of their rally supporters stupid hicks, and all the supporters of Obama intelligent & rational urbanites is irrational itself. Both parties have the blind and duped faithful (anyone remember the DNC convention in ’04 when all the delegates were screaming “end the war,” but Kerry had already stated his support for it).
Some uninformed idiot somewhere will vote for Obama. As a matter of fact, unless they sort through all of this Acorn (speaking of morons) mess, several unliving idiots will vote for Obama. As for the actual living ones, I will probably overlook any and all shortcomings they have and appreciate their vote for the candidate I am supporting.
That video is just frightening. I’m not a McCain supporter, but at least I have met some that can make a few valid points. This is like something you would see in a Borat movie.
I just watched Manufacturing Dissent last night (good recommendation Coremodels!). Its pretty easy these days to edit out whatever doesn’t support your agenda and splice together images/words out of context in support of said agenda.
that video is weak sauce

I was almost run off the road by a big box truck plastered with McCain – Palin graphics a few minutes ago…

You can find all sorts of Rev Wright ‘kill Whitey’ type of lunacy and many flavors of generic Left wing battiness, I will grant. But those are constants, lurking at a steady level all the time and are not specific to this campaign. Ditto with the Right.
What you can’t find – or I have yet to see – is the extreme bile and neo Blood Libel stuff directed at McCain personally. Or the extreme counter-factual and fanatastical ( Obama = Anti-Christ, eg) kind of thing. The anti-Obama crowd has a monopoly.
For whatever reason(s), Obama has brought out the extreme in this regard.
A.
That’s what John McCain said.

God bless Strongsville, Ohio – a mere 15 miles from my hometown of Medina.
Now we all know why I moved to Columbus. That Aaack-CENT.
