Marcia Evans Gallery Opening Satellite Location in Franklinton

As East Franklinton continues to rapidly grow into a new destination locale, one Short North Gallery owner is taking the opportunity to showcase the best of the local art scene across both neighborhoods. “The gallery in the Short North opened eight years ago this month, and the West will basically be the location for showcasing oversized paintings and sculpture in the five-to-eight foot or more range for homes, condos or corporate environments,” explains gallery owner Marcia Evans. “The satellite location will be by appointment only for now, and it will be very accommodating to your time schedule.”

Evans says that she sees the Short North and Franklinton as very complimentary, and not competitive.

“There is no comparison, they are both very different,” she explains.  “I see Franklinton as another developing arts community in the city. It took many years by investors to develop the Short North Arts District and it will take time to develop the arts community in Franklinton, but it has started.”

The opening reception on Sunday April 6th will be proceeded by an artist reception of the “Abstracts” show at the Marcia Evans Gallery in the Short North on Friday April 4th from 5:30 to 8:30pm.
