Not too long ago it seemed like it was tough to find a good drink in Clintonville, but in the past few years it’s rapidly become a haven for beer aficionados looking for craft brews on tap, growler filling stations and specialty six-packs from corner carryouts. And in 2015 that trend will continue when Clintonville get its first brewery and brewpub with the opening of Lineage Brewing at 2971 North High Street.
The team behind Lineage includes Jessica Byrne, Mike Byrne, Carey Hall and Jessica Page. The four Clintonville residents have been home brewing for awhile, and their website explains a bit more about their passion for good beer:
“Like many great discoveries, Lineage Brewing was founded in neighborhood Clintonville garages, where homebrew flowed and hops grew up backyard trellises. When creativity, aspirations, and equipment got a little too large for our tiny garages the inevitable microbrewery was born.”
An update on the Lineage Brewing blog provides more of the backstory:
“It has taken a lot of dreaming, a lot of research, and a lot of long hours of hard work to get here. Finally, we are making our dream happen after two years of planning and searching for the perfect place in Clintonville. Patience and perseverance have been the life lessons we would pass along to other start-up breweries. Hold true to your vision and believe that it will happen.”
