Lifestyle Communities Interested in More RiverSouth Development

Last week it was revealed that the two-building LC RiverSouth development Downtown would be expanding in scope by another two floors, bringing the total number of apartment units to 243. While the news was certainly a surprise, even more surprising was the inclusion of yet-to-be-announced five-story building located southeast of the LC RiverSouth development site.

“This is a future project of interest for LC,” confirmed Russell Boiarsky, Director of Marketing at Lifestyle Communities. “However, I don’t have any details or timelines at this point.”

The possible future development site — bounded by Main Street to the south, Front Street to the east, Cherry Street to the north, and Ludlow Street to the west — is currently fenced off with LC marketing materials, and is being used as a staging and construction office area for current development.

If the entire footprint of the site were to be redeveloped, it would require the demolition of a thin three story office building at 88 West Main Street and a series of interconnected single-story and two-story office buildings at 261 South Front Street.

While the additional building is purely speculative at this point, those who have been following the development of the RiverSouth neighborhood over the past decade may recall that early renderings of the original Annex at RiverSouth development from The LC included background buildings that have changed a bit in form, but have become the current LC Riversouth development that is now under construction.
