We hope you had a great time celebrating the Best Barbecue in Columbus with us during our first ever Best Bites: Barbecue at The Boathouse on Thursday night. A big thank you to all the local businesses who came out to show off their barbecue. Thanks to all our guests who participated in the event, we appreciate your support and enjoyed your company! Barbecue items were sampled from City Barbeque, Land Yacht BBQ, Paddy Wagon, KDB Easton, Ray Ray’s Hog Pit, Oldskool, Sweet Carrot, Milestone 229, House of BBQ & Blues, Barrel & Boar, Smokehouse Brewing Co., The Boat House Restaurant, Aloha Streatery, CBC Restaurant, Old Bill Bailey’s and Hoggy’s.
The votes were tallied and you voted Land Yacht BBQ as number one with their fresh cut brisket!
The Top five vote-getters included:
- Land Yacht
- Hoggy’s
- Sweet Carrot
- Old Bill Bailey’s
- Ray Ray’s Hog Pit
Thanks to DJ Charles Erickson for providing musical entertainment throughout the night.
An extra special thank you to the CU team and that helped make this event happen: Ashley Brannon, Nancy Colvin, Susan Post, Tyler Wiseman, Codi Giesey, Rebecca Wagner and Anne and Walker Evans. I am so lucky to work with such a wonderful group of people who are willing to help make each event better then the next. Thank you to all our volunteers: Patrick Moore, Melissa, Jesse Bethea, Grant Walters and photographer Chrissy Adams who helped make this event fun!
I hope you were able to also enjoy some local drafts from Smokehouse Brewing Company and Commonhouse Ales and sampled Sno-Balls from Sno-OH.
All of the attendees of the event helped us raise funds for CelebrateOne, and the Columbus Underground Best Bites event series have now collectively raised over $17,500 for local charities since launching in August 2014.
Thanks for all of your support. We love hosting the Best Bites event series and we hope to see you at one of our events in the future! Check out our next event Healthy Bites on July 29th.
Best Bites: Barbecue was brought to you with support from The German Village Society and L & E Research.
