La Chatelaine French Bakery

By: shy_999

La Chatelaine French Bakery on Lane Ave.

I saw the post that was written on the first page… and I must agree! I took my son there to meet with my parents and my father’s co-workers and loved it. I thought the food was delicious and I got a strawberry tart that blew me away! I got an apple turnover to split with my son and ended up spliting it three ways with my mom because it was so big! (It almost tasted like the filling was apple butter… I didn’t ask so I’m not sure… it was great though!) Their tomato basil soup is really good too! We sat on the patio so we didn’t get to experience the inside for long, but it was nice and clean. I personally thought the cafeteria style line suited the place well… true you had to stand in line, but when it was your turn two or three people were preparing your order and it was done quick and efficent so the line went fast. (You got to look at the menus and the food while in line so you could know exactly what to ask for when it was your turn.) I would recommend it.

  • it is the proverbial “Shit”.

I love that place. Their tarts rule everything else.

  • Well I checked this place out on sunday with my family and we loved it! It was the most perfect day to go there and the food was out of this world. I could not believe how great the tomato basil soup was! And Shy, you are right, their turnovers are fabulous! I can’t wait to go back!

  • Just went to La Chatelaine last night to celebrate my Mom’s b-day. I had their Chocolate Bowl. It’s a bowl full of hot chocolate topped off with chocolate ganache!!! :D To die for! Yummy-yum. Only $1.90!!!

  • Oh my gosh, I had that exact samething yesterday as well!!! How weird?! And yes, it was heavenly, my son wanted seconds!
