KDB to Replace GameWorks at Easton

By: Walker

A new entertainment and dining concept called KDB (short for “Kitchen Den and Bar”) will be replacing the recently closed GameWorks space at Easton Town Center. The new 37,000 venue is slated to open on August 5th.

The format will remain virtually the same as GameWorks with a 150-seat dining area, 25,000 square feet of interactive games and prize machines, and a sports bar area that contains pool tables, darts, tvs and more.

“Easton Town Center was one of our most successful locations when we ran GameWorks,” said Ron Lam, a managing partner of Trifecta Management Group. “When the opportunity to open a KDB here came to our attention, we jumped on it quickly. This is a very special community and we are proud and excited to be a part of Columbus again.”

The customer base sounds like it is expected to be somewhat similar to GameWorks, focusing on family-friendly dining and entertainment during the day and shifting to a more social/adult crowd in the evenings. The restaurant will be open late and will serve home-style American cuisine, featuring burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, bbq, and salads.

Additionally, anyone who still has GameWorks game cards with a remaining balance wil be able to bring them into KDB through September 30th to receive a $5 game credit at KDB.

  • I can trade my $40ish of Gameworks credits for $5? What a deal!

  • glad the space is being used,…next Martini Park

  • Yes, but most importantly will they keep the mural which looks like William Powell?

Compared to getting nothing, I’d say it’s a good deal. ;)

  • Looks like their website will eventually be here: http://www.kdbeaston.com

  • I think ‘family friendly’ is a stretch in a Joe Camel kinda way. I can’t help but think of Always Sunny in Philadelphia…

  • Really? Whenever I went to GameWorks during the daytime hours it was always overrun with kids playing video games. There’s not really much of a “nightlife” crowd there until after 6pm or so.

KDB could be different, but it sounds like they’re planning for the same.

  • From all that I have heard about the KDB concept is they are targeting the ‘adult’ kidless 20 somethings while losing the teens and the offspring and pushing a new image -

“KDB aims for a slightly older audience than GameWorks, which was aimed at children and teens. It’s similar to Dave & Busters, a restaurant-gaming emporium that opened its second Columbus-area location at Polaris last year.”

  • Hrm. Will be interesting to see if they can achieve that. I’m sure a lot of Easton shoppers/visitors got used to GameWorks and if KDB isn’t changed up enough, I think they’ll continue to treat it as the same thing.

  • I love KDB I like that at 10pm everynight it is 21 an older so i can go there with my friends and have a few beers. And the food is GREAT!!!!!! so much better than gameworks. And the Crew and managers there are so nice they the time to tell you what KDB is…. So i would tell all of your friends to come and check it out. I LOVE KDB

  • i forgot to add there game are sweet and the prices for the cards yes are the same as gameworks but you get more credits. I was there this past saturday and the OSU game and they gave out prizes and they had great spiceals during the periods on food and drinks.
