Restaurant to offer own ‘economic stimulus’

While the economy is driving many other businesses to close their doors, it’s not stopping one Columbus restaurateur from opening up shop. Johnny Oak, owner of Johnny Oak’s Po Boy & Shrimp Shack in the University District, will open a new restaurant in Northland aimed at boosting the economy. Johnny Oak’s Pizza & Subs is scheduled to open Feb. 28 at 2040 E. Dublin-Granville Road, which formerly housed Johnny Oak’s Cajun BBQ.

  • Aw man, my parents live right near this location and I never noticed “Johnny Oak’s Cajun BBQ”.  Wish I’d gotten to try that – though I can’t say I’m really very interested in another pizza and sub shop.  There’s already crap-tons of them around, even in that area, both chain and indie.

  • Go here today, seriously. They have brisket sandwiches (SO AMAZING, about to go have another) on the recession special right.. great deal. $3.50 includes a soda

    Food here is awesome and price is fair, I am glad I live down the street.

    I just hope he doesn’t leave the North campus location!
