Jeni’s Short North Will Close Temporarily for Updates

Jeni’s Short North is closing temporarily this Sunday, April 2. Opened in 2007, the store at 714 N. High St. is about to go through its first cosmetic and operational update.

In what’s being called a “refresh,” the Short North store will gain a kid-friendly chalkboard wall, a mural, and a new customer experience “that will make sampling, ordering, and paying for ice cream a lot easier.”

“This Short North space is so special to me and it’s full of history. It was once a bakery where I’d often stop for black pepper biscotti and ciabatta, and then it was an art gallery,” said Jeni Britton Bauer, Founder and Chief Creative Officer, in a press release. “We’re going to update the shop, but keep its character. We hope the new look is a great addition to the neighborhood and our incredible city.”

While this Jeni’s location will close for several weeks, their walk-up shop at 900 Mohawk St. will be open every day, 12 to 10 p.m., starting this Saturday, April 1. Additionally, the Jeni’s Street Treats truck will be at the corner of High Street and Warren Street until their reopening. It’s scheduled to be open Monday through Thursday, 6 to 10 p.m. and Friday through Sunday, 4 to 11 p.m., with the exception of April 8 and 14.
