“I want to thank all of our applicants for their commitment to making Columbus a better place to live and work,” said Council President Andrew Ginther in a statement released this evening. “While working in the City Attorney’s office, Ms. Page worked tirelessly to build stronger, safer neighborhoods for Columbus families. I look forward to her continuing that work on Council.”

WCBE reported on December 13th that Page was asked specifically to apply for the position, which would indicate that the decision to appoint her to City Council was made before the interview process began.

Page will be sworn into office later this month. She will be required to run for election to retain her appointed seat this November, along with recently appointed Councilmember Shannon Hardin.
