Located east of 71 in the King-Lincoln District on Mt Vernon is a good soul food/southern restaurant. Surrounding blocks are pretty ghetto, so if you want to experience some home grown urban grit it seems safe enough during the day since it’s on a main road. Inside is a mural of the Columbus skyline and an article on the restaurant from the Dispatch prominently displayed. It has great chicken wings and the sides are tasty too. Wings were the highlight with a crunchy batter and a good amount of meat. Worth going to if the location doesn’t bother you. Will be interesting to see how the district comes along after the mayor’s multimillion dollar plans to fix the neighborhood goes into effect.
