The Kentucky-based fast-casual Cajun eatery J. Gumbo’s is expanding in Central Ohio with a second location at 64 Granville Street in Gahanna. The soft opening is running through the end of this week with the public grand opening happening on Monday, February 15th. The new location will feature the same food menu as the Downtown location, but will also include a 550 sqft patio, a full service bar, and occasional live music.

This is no secret, I’m pretty sure I read about that on their website. (info is here: http://www.franchisesolutions.com/franchise/J_Gumbos.cfm )
I don’t think they claim to be anything other. The food has always been good/as expected every time I go. and at $5-6 it’s great on the go/lunch. i think the original dishes are prepared in one facility, I forget, maybe in Kentucky.
Yeah, I’ve never seen any claims that it’s cooked on site. Some people care about that, others don’t. The post seemed to me to be a one off slam at a business from someone who posted once and left. Personally, I judge based on taste.
at the gahanna store, they do claim to have a chef. however, no one knows anything about the food there. from claims of all white meat chicken, to no msg or gluten. they will say anything to get your $. i love downtown, i go there twice a week- so this isn’t a slam, it’s disappointment. gahanna is closer for me, but it’s also dirty, and the food is over cooked and dry. the added $$ they charge on top makes it all a thumbs down. sorry if you think i’m sniping, i just think they put a bad face on the food.
I bit of a delay on the response, but I appreciate it nonetheless. I’ve got no dog in this fight as I haven’t had a chance to try it. I’ll post some comments when I do.
Dear i_be_furious@yahoo.com . . . oh the sad campaign of a very disgruntled wannabe employee . . . . so pathetic and so very unattractive! To DavidF . . . Mr. Furious has no dog in the fight either, thats exactly what he is so bitter about. Give either location a try, they are both excellent and you will love the local artwork and music in Gahanna on Saturday night!
Just went to J Gumbos Gahanna for the first time on Saturday night. Had a blast. The place is really fun to be in! The music was such a surprise and I can only say good things about the food I tasted. I had Drunkin Chicken and my husband had VooDoo . . . very very spicy and very very fresh! We will be regulars!
o_O so what you’re saying is if you don’t like the food, you should ask for an application? do you always come to opinion pages with personal attacks and weird sentence fragments? ease off the coffee buddy.
