Hungry for more: Bento

Once you’ve acquired a taste for it, there’s really nothing more satisfyingly yummy than a nice, fresh sushi roll. What Americans generally understand as sushi (vinegared rice, fish, and garnishes wrapped in seaweed) has become more and more popular in recent years, popping up in restaurants and grocery stores all over. Luckily for both the inquisitive and the fanatics, Ohio State has found itself with a restaurant that serves good quality sushi and other Japanese-style food for a low price.
When Paul Liu opened Bento Go-Go on High Street, he wanted to bring quick-serve, made-to-order Japanese food to OSU. “I thought Columbus kids would be more adventurous,” says Liu of the inspiration behind Bento. “I thought sushi would be a natural extension of that. I thought it would be a great alternative.” He realized his idea by drawing inspiration from the classic Japanese bento boxes — small, sectioned food containers usually meant to pack a lunch in. Along with sushi rolls and a number of different rice and meat bowls, Bento Go-Go serves up a variety of combinations, including Mango Chicken and Baked Salmon in the bento box style.
