After years of planning, a riverside park is set to become a reality for the Harrison West neighborhood in Columbus, thanks to new financing.
The Columbus-Franklin County Finance Authority issued almost $3.1 million in bonds last month to buy and develop nearly five acres along the Olentangy River into much-needed green space for the city neighborhood.
I don’t have an account to read the whole article online, but it is great news for the neighborhood that this is coming closer to reality! Also see renderings at www.harrisonpark.com.
The info I have heard is demo will start in the next couple months to tear down the remaining buildings on the park site. I drove through there yesterday an almost all of the single family homes are sold, and the second “Flats” building they are putting up drywall.

that’s great news for me I just bought a townhouse at Harrison Park :)
This development is coming along well in a timely manner, unlike a certain one which I won’t mention. The park will be a great touch, I’m looking forward to seeing it all come together.
I didn’t click on your hyperlink yet but I’m guessing it starts with a “J” and ends with an “effrey place”
Welcome to the neighborhood!
Article ought to have said “second park.” IIRC, there’s already a Harrison West park.
i’ve appraised a few of the flats a walked through some of the homes. these things are selling like crazy. the first phase of flats sold out pretty quickly. i suppose it’s a good price point for most units (they are pretty nice inside) and there are alot of amenities such as a pool, clubhouse, fitness center, meeting rooms, lounge with a bar. good neighborhood for the young professionals, singles, young couples. it will be nice when this park is finished and connects to the existing bike paths between osu and downtown. i think there are two more buildings to go, which will contain lofts. they have built this project fast, which i can’t say for alot of others…..jeffrey place. i would like to see this kind of density in most infill projects around the core.
and let us not forget
Jeffrey Place aside…
WHAT ARE THEY DOING WITH THE BROADWIN???
Dear gosh. WTF
I forgot all about the Broadwin, is anyone living there yet? Their site says they have sold several units.
We do have Harrison West Park (Fourth and Oregon) with the playground, Side by Side Park (Third and the river) with the public art sculptures, and we just expanded our boundaries to take in Wheeler Park, which is proposed for a dog park. The new park on the river is called Harrison Park.
Welcome to the neighborhood!
+1, I’ve been a HW owner for about a year and 1/2. Everything has been all good so far :D
