Gateway Film Center celebrates the most wonderful time of the year—for the eighth consecutive time—with a lineup of holiday movies.

GFC President and Programmer Chris Hamel diversified this year, offering something for every taste.

“I’m in the eighth year of this great program, and I’m always on the look out for new ideas to keep these fresh for our guests,” he says. “This year offers so many premieres, I think everyone in central Ohio can find something to watch. Traditional or non-traditional holiday films are always great to see on the big screen.”

Hamel has put together a slate of “naughty” and “nice” fare for his classics list, as well as a program for horror fans. And he says he had a blast doing it.

“I love it,” he says. “It’s truly one of the great perks of this role, and the holiday season is very special to the film center team.”

Boasting longtime favorites like It’s a Wonderful Life and White Christmas alongside unusual additions such as Trading Places and Lethal Weapon, the program is intended to stretch expectations.

Hamel is also pleased to be able to show many of the features in 35mm.

“This year you get It’s a Wonderful Life, White Christmas, Rare Exports and more all presented on 35mm film,” he says. “Gateway Film Center is all about spreading a sincere love of movies. The holiday season seems like the perfect chance to share that love with our community.”

So knock back some nog and check the list twice.
