Happy Greek’s owners joyful over getting Gateway debut behind them

Mohamed Hassan and Gihan Zalat know it is better to open late than to never open, and the owners of the Happy Greek hope the wait will be worth it.

The last of the originally planned South Campus Gateway restaurants finally debuted May 16 at 1554 N. High St., bringing Greek and Mediterranean cuisine to a neighborhood that hosts plenty of sandwich and pizza shops, seafood and Mexican food outlets.

It becomes Hassan and Zalat’s second Happy Greek restaurant, following one they run on High Street in Columbus’ Short North.
