Guest House Perfect for Festival Goers and Friends

By: Alexandra Kelley Fox

Summer is finally making her sweet way around the bend. Soon the festival gamut will unleash itself with the Columbus Arts Festival, Columbus Pride Festival, Comfest, Red, White & Boom!, the DooDah Parade, and the Jazz & Rib Fest. Short North residents know that nothing beats diving into the revelry without traffic or parking woes, but burb dwellers now have a new option: The Victorian Village Guest House.

Located in the carriage house of 1149 Neil Avenue and run by homeowner Lisa Craig Morton, the Guest House is 950 square feet of festival getaway heaven. It sleeps up to three, has a full kitchen, and offers all of the accoutrements of a boutique hotel.

“We wanted to create the perfect Short North area hideaway,” Lisa said. “It’s definitely a unique option for anyone with visiting friends or family.”

  • Looks pretty. I had a chance to go into the German Village Guesthouse one year and it was nice too.
And I’ve always thought that pretty house in Harrison West would be fun for visitors!

  • This is more incentive for my brother to bring his family to town for a visit.  Thanks!

  • Looks nice.  About how much does one of these guest houses cost during a typical summer weekend?

  • Our “special event” rate for festival weekends, OSU football weekends, etc. is $225/night (+ 5.1% tax) for double occupancy.  Our standard rate is $185/night (+5.1% tax) for double occupancy.  Beginning May 15, we will be able to accommodate three people with the addition of our new daybed.  There is an a $25 surcharge for three-person occupancy.  Three people is the maximum we can accommodate.

  • thought that place looked familiar! painted it about 6 years ago.
