These days, it seems everyone is seeing “green.” Interest in designing, constructing, working, and living in environmentally-friendly buildings has increased considerably and shows little chance of letting up.

As owner/principal at Greenovate, Tyler Steele, for one, is capitalizing on those desires. Greenovate offers green building materials, including flooring, countertops, paint, insulation and sheet goods, as well as project management and consultation services for commercial and residential clients. Greenovate −whose offices and showroom are in the Short North− also provides indoor health evaluations and action plans to businesses, homeowners, and renters.

That is an incredibly generic response and the linked information you provided is even more vague. Can you name any of the "needed actions" that people should be taking when it comes to "going green"?

The thing that I really liked about talking with Tyler and doing this interview is that he described some of the specific products they provide and some of the specific projects they've completed.

"Going Green" is too vague. Buying a durable, long-lasting, recycled-material countertop for a home kitchen remodel project is something real for people to think about.

In Central Ohio going green is no longer a trendy fad but a needed action adopted by everyone from all walks of life and from all areas of industry. As more and more people the world over become eco-conscience a demand for eco-friendly goods are on the rise.

Tyler totally rocks! Great passion and customer service. It turns out, a lot of the green items are more modern looking than what we want for our house, but Tyler goes the extra mile. For example, we considered cork flooring, but I like to maintain an old look, and so I considered doing an inlayed pattern with different shades. Tyler gave us contact information of skilled craftman that could do that work. Ultimately, we decided our big dogs would damage the cork floors (and even wood floors - we're going with tile), but we appreciated the work he did with us while we considered it. Those paper countertops are really cool, too! Seriously, especially if you have a more modern, or some types of retro, this is THE PLACE to checkout.

Glad they're expanding. They've always been helpful when I've stopped in, and it was obvious that they needed a larger space!
