Grandview Yard Adding Second Hotel with Courtyard by Marriott

Since 2010, the 126-room Hyatt Place has stood as the lone hotel at Grandview Yard, but that will change in 2016. Nationwide Realty Investors (NRI) announced yesterday that a new Courtyard by Marriott hotel would be added to the development’s plans.

“The new hotel will complement our existing Hyatt Place, and with its’ strong appeal to business travelers, Courtyard will integrate well into our centrally located development,” said Brian Ellis, Presidents & COO at NRI, the master developer of the 125-acre LEED Certified Grandview Yard project.

Design renderings for the hotel have not yet been unveiled, but NRI stated that it would be a four-story building at the northeast corner of Yard Street and Goodale Boulevard. The 135-room hotel will include an indoor pool, fitness center, meeting rooms and an outdoor patio with fire pit.

Construction on the new building will begin in May with a projected completion date of Summer 2016. The project is being developed in conjunction with The Grand Event Center, which will be located next door.

In other Grandview Yard news, construction is well underway on the new Nationwide corporation offices on Yard Street, as seen in our most recent Construction Roundup. Work is also expected to begin this spring on 45 new homes and townhomes for sale on the western edge of the neighborhood.
