The father and son duo of Jeff and Jeffrey Zettler have just announced that they are expanding from their downtown operation and opening a new Hardware store this summer in Grandview Heights.
The new business will be called Goodale Hardware and will be located at 1015 Goodale Boulevard, near the intersection of Northwest Boulevard.
“We feel that Grandview’s hardware needs are currently underserved and believe we can address that” said Jeff Zettler, President of Zettler Hardware Co. Inc. and partner at Goodale Hardware.
Many on Columbus Underground were saddened by the recent announcement about the closing of Grandview Trustworthy Hardware, and some even mentioned specifically that they’d like to see Zettler step in to fill the gap in Grandview.
The Downtown Zettler hardware store has been around for over 160 years. “To say we’ve done Hardware retail before is a bit of an understatement” said Jeffrey Zettler, Goodale Hardware’s new manager.
The planned opening date is sometime in late June. “We are midway through the buildout and have ordered our initial inventory. Things are moving along pretty quickly now,” said Jeff Zettler.
The new store will be a full-service hardware store, offering screen & glass installation, glass cutting and key duplication. A tool rental program and website are in development.
Zettler has gone the extra mile to help connect with the community, and the new business has hired on Grandview residents Saneh Manirochana and two veterans from the old Trustworthy store Gary Van Vorst and David Manzanarez. All three men have extensive experience in the retail hardware business.
“We aim to be your store,” said Jeffrey Zettler. “If you have any particular products you’d like us to carry please email us at goodalehardware@gmail.com or twitter us @goodalehardware.”

yes! yes! yes! glass cutting and within walking distance of junctionview!!
The 30 minute round trip to Mill Run for one piece or part will soon be a thing of the past. I was so sad to lose Trustworthy – I could literally walk there for a “fix”. Thanks for settling in Grandview.
Rebooting Hardware on Goodale

Jeffrey Zettler knows an opportunity when it presents itself.
Back in October of 2008 Zettler followed the story of the closing of the Grandview Trustworthy Hardware store, relocated from 5th Ave. to Goodale Blvd. In posts on this blog and the local Columbus Underground blog, the story of the business move was told , with a struggle to establish a presence at the new location, and a sudden bankruptcy that left employees stranded.

Now if I can just remember what hardware need went unfulfilled a couple weeks ago when I realized you weren’t open yet …
A.
awesome!
Congrats! :D Looking forward to checking it out!
OMFGYAY! This is so going to save me time and money. I have to run to a big box almost 2X a week to get stuff for Junctionview – its almost an hour wasted in travel time each trip – now its gonna be 10 minutes – PLUS its local business, local economy, and less miles at 17mpg in my truck. Happy Happy (and I still love the logo).
A few weeks ago I had to run out to Lowe’s to pick up a few small things because I had foolishly waited too late to go to Zettler. I figured it would be no big deal… run in, grab my three items, and be out. Of course it took me three times as long to find what I was looking for and walk back and forth across that gigantic store. Ugh.
So yeah… that’s possibly one of my favorite things about Zettler (and I’m sure Grandview Hardware as well) is that you’re greeted upon walking in, asked if you need any help finding something, and immediately have everything you need within a few moments. Isn’t it strange when simple customer service seems almost magical? ;)
As predicted, I had a short term, quick need and didn’t have time to run to a big box – right around the corner, had what I needed, got an hour back and saved a gallon of gas and wear and tear on my car (and psyche) – LOVE IT!
