Restauranteur Brian Swanson, owner of Short North gastropub Bodega, will take ownership of Grandview Cafe at the end of 2015. The cafe, located at 1455 West Third Avenue, has been in continual operation since 1925. Owner Brett Holland acquired the cafe at the beginning of 2007 along with former co-owner Bill Cosgrove.

Swanson will additionally be opening new restaurant Hadley’s Bar & Kitchen — formerly known as Tavernesque — later this year, at 260 South Fourth Street.

“Inspirations for the renovation have been pulled from restaurants all over the country, and the new owners are mindful that Grandview Cafe is indeed a local landmark,” read the press release.

A new menu will also accompany the company’s construction facelift. Menu items are still to be determined. Trivia night will most likely be held once a week, according to Grandview Cafe PR Consultant Lauren Cutillo.

The restaurant will close at the beginning of 2016 for a full renovation, with an expected spring reopening.
