Press Release:

Full figured consignment shop located in the Short North sets grand opening. Because big girls are beautiful ... Go Figure!

Go Figure Consignment, LLC sets official grand opening for upcoming Short North Gallery Hop, Saturday, May 2, 2009. “Go Figure, is a full figured consignment shop specializing in sizes 12 and up, for the bigger, beautiful(er) women like me,” says Sherri Brunner, owner. “I’ve been feeling for a long time that bigger girls have not been offered the same shopping benefits as our smaller sisters in the current marketplace, especially in the Short North.”

Go Figure has quietly been open during the month of April, building inventory of seasonal, stylish, new and gently used full figured/plus sized clothing and accessories. Items change daily at the store, including brand name and one-of-a-kind fashions and jewelry created by local designers. “I carry all sizes and shapes of full figured/plus sized clothing and accessories, including upscale (never worn or gently used) dresses, suits, blazers, casual clothing, dress slacks, stylish tops, jeans, active wear, swimsuits, sleepwear, scarves, jewelry, hats, handbags, shoes and other accessories,” says Sherri.

“I’m now accepting summer fashions, and I’ve had several customer requests for pant suites, summer dresses and designer handbags.” Go Figure also offers personalized shopping assistance, where clients can provide their Wish List and they are contacted if those items arrive.

Recycle your (full figured/plus sized) wardrobe. “I consider Go Figure to be an open closet for my clients. An opportunity for women to stop in, buy beautiful clothes, wear them, bring them back, and sell them again for someone else to enjoy,” says Sherri. “Items are consigned for 30 days to ensure fresh inventory and the sales are split 50/50, giving everyone an opportunity to make and save some money. The word is getting out and I’ve had great response so far. I never knew (recycling) could be so much fun!”

Amen to that, berdawn! I'm excited about this both from a buying and selling viewpoint. I have tons of clothes that I bought before I lost weight in this past year, but never got a chance to wear.

There really are very few good places to shop for us plus sized ladies. I'm still trying to figure out what genius thinks that horizontal stripes looks good on larger people? Or loud prints?

I'm tired of the poorly made clothes that I find at Catherines/Avenue/Fashion Bug Plus/Lane Bryant and would be willing to pay money for pieces that will hold up for longer than 6 months or a year.

WOW! this is such great news! I can't wait to check out this shop. As much as I wish one of the many designers living and working in c-bus would take an interest in making clothes for extra and extra large women, I will be quite happy to have another option without hauling my tubby butt to Easton for the slim pickings at macy's. Thanks, Sherry!
