You may think there is only one reason to venture into Columbus — aka enemy territory — and that’s to watch the Michigan State University Spartans take on the Buckeyes at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in “the ’shoe,’ ” Ohio State’s horseshoe-shaped stadium.

But you’d be surprised at all the visitor-friendly happenings in this Midwestern capital — enough that even the New York Times last month called it “Columbus Cool.”

Here’s a guide to some of the city’s attractions before or after the OSU homecoming game, or for anyone seeking a quick getaway less than four hours from Metro Detroit.

    Kick. Ass. We need about 500 more just like this. It’s great how the NYTimes article got attention. My momma in Nashville even mentioned it. This is important, and hopefully one of many to come.
