You may think there is only one reason to venture into Columbus — aka enemy territory — and that’s to watch the Michigan State University Spartans take on the Buckeyes at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in “the ‘shoe,’ ” Ohio State’s horseshoe-shaped stadium.
But you’d be surprised at all the visitor-friendly happenings in this Midwestern capital — enough that even the New York Times last month called it “Columbus Cool.”
Here’s a guide to some of the city’s attractions before or after the OSU homecoming game, or for anyone seeking a quick getaway less than four hours from Metro Detroit.
