This weekend, Pinchflat will return to Wild Goose Creative to celebrate bike culture through a traveling art exhibition. Until the end of August, affordable posters created by local artists will be displayed in admiration of the bicycling community of Columbus. Each limited-edition poster is $30 and is beautifully designed and screen printed especially for Pinchflat 2014.
The mobile exhibition began as a curated gallery showcase founded by Wild Goose Creative, and has since grown to a larger series of community events. Seven total locations will host Pinchflat, with celebrations art and bikes throughout the summer.
The program is not just a celebration of art and the bicycling community, but serves as an opportunity for artists to gain exposure throughout Columbus and get paid for their work. Pinchflat is annually the most financially supportive program for artists at Wild Goose Creative. More money goes directly back to Pinchflat artists due to poster sales and project grants than any other program that takes place at the arts organization.
A special first look gallery show is offered Friday, May 2 from 5:00-7:30pm at Wild Goose Creative where a panel of participating artists will share their stories and inspiration for their art. Tickets are $10 and guests can purchase prints in advance of the general public, enjoy catered food and drink, and meet the artists.
The exhibition officially opens on Saturday, May 3 with the marquee kick-off event from 12:00-5:00pm. At the opening, enjoy music, food, and raffle prizes, and browse local craft vendors. Paradise Garage will be hosting a free after party during Gallery Hop in the Short North for the Pinchflat launch. For the month of May, all posters will be available for purchase from Paradise Garage.
The traveling exhibition will also be shown at these locations from May until August:
May 31 to June 30: Pinchflat event at Roll: in Bexley
July 5-31: Baer Wheels in Clintonville
