Yuengling: Can you find it ANYWHERE in Columbus?

Anyone know of any Central Ohio locations to find Yuengling (currently only available in Pennsylvania, New York and southern Florida)??
I just got back from a trip to Fort Lauderdale on Skybus and enjoyed it many times there, as well as during road trips to Pittsburgh or upstate NY...but have yet to find it anywhere in Ohio. There was a thread in the Columbus LiveJournal community which ignited quite a lot of interest in finding any Ohio establishments that may provide the excellent (and inexpensive) beer.
Anyone know if it's available here or how one could request it to be?

from what i understand... it doesnt have the distribution rights to be sold in ohio. (or something along those lines) ohio isnt the only state either. :?

I have yet to find it here, but I have started to see TastyKakes crop up here and there, which is a brand normally only found in the Philadelphia area.

yeah... i don't know what the deal is. Drink it in VA and PA all the time. No luck here, though. Seems like I have this Yuengling-in-Ohio conversation with someone every couple months or so. Imagine it would sell well here...

Why can't I find Yuengling nationwide?
The Yuengling Brewery is a regional brewer that has manufacturing plants in Pottsville, PA and Tampa, FL. Currently we distribute our products over a ten state area along the eastern seaboard. While there is significant interest for our products nationwide, unfortunately we do not have the manufacturing capabilities to service customers across the United States. As a result, our focus and efforts continues to be on our loyal customers and markets that are logistically feasible to our production facilities.

have you tried kenny road liquors? i don't recall seeing it there, but they have a good selection so it might be your best shot.
we used to drink it occasionally in college. that is when we could afford to get something other than keystone!!

Yep!! It's not sold in Ohio at all!! They don't distribute it there.

As a Philadelphian by birth, I've been watching the gradual, hesitant moves of TastyKake into the Columbus area with no small amount of interest. My roommate in college was from New Jersey and I used to ask him to bring back boxes of the stuff when he went home to visit his folks. :D

There's always at least one box of kandy kakes in my luggage after a visit home in Philly, not to mention a fruit pie for the plane ride :wink: . The last time I drove back, I bought 8 cases of assorted Yeungling styles at the border. I wish those would have lasted longer... :)

One gets the sense reading their press release archive that they are trying to grow slowly. Given the age of the company, they are wary that the current micro and craft beer growth is a temporary thing and will recede, and they don't want to overgrow the long term market. This combines with the fact that they don't want to water down the quality of the brand. These are just my impressions from scanning the press archive on their web site. I hear rumors ever few months that someone knows someone who works for a distributor who is talking with them about Ohio. Hope it's true.
This NYT article from 2005 is a good read.
This caught my eye: undated releases announcing the creation of the following new positions: Director, Sales Development and Admin; Business Development Manager and Mid-Atlantic Division Manager (promoted from Virginia State Manager).
