Greetings YPC members! Please take a few minutes to share with us your favorites in Columbus. We've tried to cover everything from development projects to french cuisine. You do not have to vote on every category.
The winners in various categories will be invited to celebrate with the community at an upcoming YPC event in March. Stay tuned for more details!

I answered Bono Togo for several categories. I could not answer most of those questions.

I must not be a young professional. I didn't have an answer for more than half of those questions.
Seriously, though - being a young professional is just as much about being a professional as it is about being young. These questions seemed more in line for a survey of young layabouts.

Really? I wasn't able to answer many of them, and it was making me feel like a lazy shut-in because I don't have a favorite fitness center or place to see live music or open-mic night. :oops:

Just seemed like an awful lot of questions about bars and restaurants. Nothing about great places to work or great community service projects or the like.

That was long but I was able to answer most I remembered there are places to list out side of direct down town that are in Columbus that helped a lot. lol But yea I dont have a gym except my house lol

Yeah, I could not answer things like Best Steakhouse, Best Mexican, Best Shoe Store, best Art Gallery, Best Park etc.. I just don't go to these places or they are off my radar.
I put Bodega as best neighborhood bar, and The Bono Togo Crepe as the best dessert... its $3. I also put Bono Togo as best vegetarian, pizza, new resterant, romantic dinner, first date spot, and maybe some more categories.

I think the survey was just a general way to get people thinking about their "favorites" here in Columbus. If there are other catergories and "best ofs" that you want to add, feel free to post them here on CU and we'll add those.

Honestly, the more I think about it, this is the same quiz that I've seen in: Columbus Monthly/The Other Paper/CitySearch(back in the day)/etc....
How is this related to being a Young Professional in Columbus?
How about anything that relates to a profession and not on eating/drinking
Best place to work in (Accounting/Marketing/IT/Sales/Law/government/Radio/blah/blah/blah)
Best employer for entry level
Best employer with a career path for the YP
Best employer for work/life balance
Best place to moonlight
Best employer for health benefits
Best employer for perks other than health care
Best employer for flex-time/telecommute/non-traditional work day
How about anything related to the YPs who are also parents.
Best Day Care?
Best Public School?
Best Private School?

I agree that they could be more YP related - best place for lunch in an hour, best place for a business meeting/lunch, best place to buy work clothes
The problem with a lot of those is that people don't try as many employers as they do restaurants or bars. So it would be a lot harder to say which employer had the best health benefits as a survey because most people probably wouldn't have a lot to compare.
