(first post - hi everyone!)
Brewmaster wrote - Alessi Saffron Risotto - Easy to make, and close enough to "real" risotto for me. Goes great with salmon. Sidenote...avoid the porcini mushroom flavored variety. It's salty and tastes a little strange.
thanks for the heads-up on this - i tried the sun-dried tomato variety, and it was really good. will definitely try the other flavors.
some of my favorites:
1. diet coke: less of a "favorite," more of an absolute essential.
2. webcomics: http://www.marriedtothesea.com - http://www.nataliedee.com - http://www.explosm.net
3. victorian literature (especially george eliot).
4. donny miller artwork: http://www.donnymiller.com - http://www.myspace.com/donnymiller
5. all-time favorite music: wilco.
6. on-my-ipod-right-now favorite music: stars (in our bedroom after the war), joan as police woman (real life), rilo kiley (under the blacklight - oh, who am i kidding? - all of it), new pornographers (challengers), eddie vedder (into the wild).

Ew. Really? I mean... I drink it. But I'm not a huge fan of the flavor. I think Coke Zero tastes a bit better. And Diet Vanilla Coke is alright too.
I should have switched off to water for the New Year but I need my caffeine!

I KNOW! sometimes - even while i'm drinking it - i think, "why am i drinking this again?" i think it has as much to do with the familiarity of the taste than the taste itself? something like that.
oh. and i like the fizz. it's all about the carbonation, you know?

i just got into this cd. that first song they put out ($ maker) really turned me off when it first got out. but now that i've given the CD a chance i'm really enjoying it.

i was late getting into rilo kiley at all - a friend sent me "a man/me/then jim" but it was one of those it's-in-my-itunes-but-i-hardly-ever-hear-it-and-when-i-do-i'm-not-really-listening kinds of songs. it was only after buying the jenny lewis solo album that i actually sat up and took notice of rilo kiley. bought under the blacklight first, so i didn't realize how different it was from the other albums. now i have all of them and can understand what older fans of the band are talking about when they sort of bitch about under the blacklight, but i think it holds its own many times over. favorite tracks are "15," "the angels hung around," and "give a little love."
bumping old threads.
These are a few of my favorite things...
We're so lucky to have such a superb beer brewed here locally, thank you Eric Bean.
