Duo outlines gaming resort plans for jilted Youngstown

Backers of a failed 2008 push to build a casino in Wilmington are looking to enter Ohio’s gambling fray by way of a city with its own outspoken feelings on the casino plan.
The Mahoning Valley Development Group, headed by northeast Ohio business partners Rick Lertzman and Bradford Pressman, said Monday that the duo will disclose plans Tuesday to build a $300 million horse racing track and resort in Youngstown. While the prospect of video slot machines at Ohio tracks remains unsettled, Lertzman and Pressman say the Mahoning Valley Downs and Resort will be a track and casino.

Beulah Park racetrack moving?

Beulah Park in Grove City might be about to move, according to a rumor being repeated by a group trying to bring a horse-racing track to the Youngstown area.
Penn National Gaming Inc., which owns Beulah Park, said it will not comment on rumors.
