I'm not usually personally involved in the hardware side of the business (I do more of the programming and web-design type stuff) but we're a very small company, so I'm sure I could act as the middleman if that makes you more comfortable. I can also deliver it, since you don't live far from me.
Just let me know if you're sure you want it, so I can have them take the listing off the website.

That's a good deal, with personal delivery added. Maybe you'll get a tour of the knife sharpening factory. ;]
I told my neighbor about your computer business, he'll contact you when he has the cash.

Wow, that looks like my work laptop from 6+ years ago. Me thinks not such a good deal when you can get new Dells for not much more than that.
Ask JimL2, he found some good ones for me when I was looking, but I of course chose none of them because I wanted a BLUE one :)

The hard drive on that Dell wouldn't even hold all the music on my iPod.
$449 for a new dell in your choice of lovely colors even...

It looks like it has wireless built into it from the specs. I'm a Mac guy myself so I don't know a whole lot about Windows machines, but I'll double check with our tech guy to make sure.

A new dell oem battery for that laptop will also run close to $100 (knockoffs are ymmv). These are just things to consider. It is a good price if you don't need very much, though...but it has closer to netbook specs in a larger size. It is vintage 2003-2004.

Sherman, You can get a brand new Netbook for dirt cheap if you just need something to surf the internet and check email with:

ok i know nothing about computers, i also dont want to spend more than 300 for a used one. the laptop guy had several dells for under 300 but again i know nothing..... maybe i should finance a new dell? this sucks, temper got the best of me, but it was a long time coming. it was a great office space scene though... beat the shit out of it yelling and screaming. i still cant find my cats. i was within mins from finishing the urban scrawl poster when it locked up and i lost everything.

I'd look at something new if I were you. I'm not a PC person, but Dell does seem to have some good deals. You'll beat the shit out of that old Dell in 3 weeks, tops. ;)

He pretty much knows everything there is to know about Windows computers, and he's very honest, so he won't tell you it's a better deal than it is.
He does tend to lapse into geek speak pretty often, but I can tell him to try to keep that to a minimum.
I know it might sound like conflict of interest to get advice from him, but really, we're small and local --it's definitely not in our best interest to have dissatisfied customers.

Having bought a few used laptops - expect quirks. I'd suggest going with new, along the lines of the "don't inherit someone else's problems" argument against buying a used car.
