Great video. I've read a lot of articles about the strike and the standard line seems to be that sure, a lot of these Hollywood writers are making tons of money, but new union contract is going to set the standard for the other industry unions (including the ones who's members live paycheck to paycheck).
I hope they're not just blowing smoke up our skirts, because I like writers and hate corporate greed.

Well, they did come up with "unitedhollywood.com, we're all on the same page." At first I thought most of these guys could be replaced with first graders, but if they're coming up with material like that, I stand corrected.

FYI, I think I lucked out due to the writers strike. I have tickets to Letterman on Tuesday, Jan 8th. When I applied online for them in mid Dec the website said there was a 3-4 months waiting list. I got a call on Jan 2nd from the Letterman staff saying I got the tickets. I was so psyched. On another note, about 20 minutes later I got confirmation that I also got Daily Show tickets on the same day. They are taped at just about the same time so I reluctantely chose Letterman over Daily Show. I figured Letterman will probably have a bigger name celebrity, a music act, and there show is 1.5 hours long as opposed to 1/2 hour. I wish I was going to be in NYC longer cause I still definately want to see the Daily Show.

I am scheduled to appear on Maury to find out if I am a baby-daddy to an out of control teen and then have guess if the teen is a man or a woman!

Is the baby morbidly obese? If so, make sure you make him go out in just his underpants so everyone can see.

So - does that mean they are going to start taping the Daily Show again?! We really need some Cluster**** to the White House coverage. We had decided to get rid of cable, but if they start the Daily Show again it might make me think twice. Of course, I guess it's all online now...

Huh. I wonder how many people got rid of cable on account of the strike? We joke all the time about how we have cable for the first time in our lives and it's worthless.

Supposed to start back up next week (along with Colbert) sans writers. Will be interesting to see how Jon and Stephen manage to improv for 22 minutes every night.

Yeah, whoever posted that clip of the Daily Show writer, it was bizarre. As it always is I guess, to see the people whose personalities the on air person is channeling. I remember seeing the guy who created every body loves raymond interviewed on something and realized the whole show was him, same with Larry David. So I think it will be weird to see them operate without writers, and then the slew of tabloid stories about how he really had writers.

Lol at striking. I wish investment bankers would form a union, and go on strike.

The one that kills me...the union is claiming Leno is breaking the lines because he stated he wrote for himself.
The union says he is not allowed to write for his show but the comedian's action poses a quandary.
p.s. I wouldn't recommend dumping cable, as in 1 year analog signals all go black for the people using antennae.
