Yes, if it were to make it there. I also predict a large turnout. On a tangent, could we also pass an initiative to allow bars to serve alcohol until 3:30?

Organized crime still makes money on it in places where it is legal (amsterdam anyone?). As I said, I think the increased market would more than make up for the drop in price.

Besides... I was being totally tongue in cheek with that post anyway. :P

Appropriate field sobriety test for dope would be to have the po po break out a boom box and play the Grateful Dead. If the driver gets his or her groove on then said driver is too stoned to drive safely. If the driver recoils and looks to be in pain, said driver is not stoned. Very scientific.

well if michigan and indiana are looking at medical uses as someone suggested, we should pass this NOW. if we were behind on getting gambling passed, we should be ahead of the curve in this. think of all the tourism it'll bring in! we could probably create, oh i don't know, 34,000 jobs by doing this!

seriously, i think this will be legal eventually anyways - i'm not opposed to it (i don't partake personally) at all. i just think our state's PR image might have a problem if we did it SO close to the gambling passing. eventually, it'll get blamed on the obama liberals having a field day with being in power for 4 years somehow. :)

I don't smoke but I think it's ridiculously hypocritical for us to continue outlawing a substance that the last three US Presidents have admitted* to using.

Well I would vote to legalize it, but I wouldn't want people smoking weed while driving cars, especially if they leave their car windows rolled down and it blows out their window and comes in through my ventillation.

I would have to agree! It causes far more deaths and thefts then pot ever will. I have known off the top of my head 5 people to die from Oxy abuse. Countless others getting addicted to Oxy, PercocetÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s and the like. I say we outlaw those.

Another thing about prescription drugs, sewage treatment doesn't get rid of all of them, and hormone-affecting substances go into the waterways.

Haven't you heard? If we legalized pot, the entire city would turn into one giant drum circle. Theft of hostess products from local stores would be off the charts, the only concerts we'd have in town would be Phish or other jam bands, the only people visiting Columbus would be 18-20 year olds wearing tie-dyes and driving VW vans...

It would clearly ruin the city.
