Something interesting I just found out - the company we're renting the port o'potties from for Sunday is the same company whose port o'potties were used at the original Woodstock concert.
Don't worry, they're not the same port o'potties. (At least, I don't think they are) ;)

This was the hidden gem of the weekend.
Had to be about 3,000 people there. Most in tie die shirts, many with long hair and in their 60’s. It was fun and kids were dancing in the aisles.
Unfortunately, on the way home I found out what happens to a ‘free love’ hippie when they reach their 60’s. Yep, right there on the sidewalk along city park about 50 yards fro Roosters:

(we laughed)
and then I went home and looked for eye bleach.

It was really pretty awesome. We were right up front, so had a very intimate view of the show (thanks Shroud!). Everytime I looked back, there would be more people back there. People were dancing and singing and holdin' hands. I missed the free love, but I guess you can't see everything lolz.
I thought the company did an awesome job of adapting the show. The best part was, every once in a while, you'd catch an expression on the actor's faces... like 'holy crap, there's a lot of people here.' Brilliant. They were loving it, and it came through in the performance.

I think having it outside took it to a next level.
They were doing a scene where they talked about helecopters flying over. They had the sound of the chop coming through the PA, but if you looked up, you could see the CPD chopper.
I was thinking; "that would be soooo cool, if it ran it's spolight across the crowd, man."

Tenzo, I was thinking the same thing about the chopper --- that they didn't need to do the fake chopper sounds, they just needed the CPD to do a flyby.
It was a great show - completely perfect weather, and a good time in general. I hope Actors' Theater got a load of donations!

Great show. I think 3,000 people (at the very least) were there. The audience was spread out as far as the Schiller statue (to the west) and to the Rec Center (to the east). In the last two years, Actors has had record crowds for shows (3 Musketeers/As You Like It/Treasure Island, namely), this hit the jackpot/bank.
And I was still convinced that the real Rodney Benton was there, hehe...

Nah, man, Back to the Garden in the Park, '10!
We took the kids, my nieces, my parents and a family friend and had a great time. Seeing the show at the Box is better if you actually wanted to see all the dance moves and so forth, but you couldn't beat the authentic atmosphere of actually having it outside.
I also got a big surprise when I saw Eileen up on stage. (Eileen Howard, who is the lead vocal coach for my program, portrayed the first of the Old Woodstockers in the live version of the interview segments.)
Question for jmak --if you turned over all donations to Actors, how were you guys able to afford to do the show, especially with all the extra extras? Did you just take a "big bath" like Michael and Artie?
