I have to admit this response gave me a chuckle:
"Sounds like the place is going from creating loaves to creative loafing."
That was also my favorite. Well, so far.
Only took a few hours to get a "Remember Ameriflora"
I hate people.
A matter of time before Son of Heaven gets mentioned then...
clearly none of the people who commented negatively about there not being a market for people buying art (or what one commenter called useless junk) and that people don't have disposable income to rent an artist space have ever been to juctionview. maybe they should take the time to go there and check out the amazing work that is made by artists in those studios and find out that there isn't an empty studio there but instead a waiting list. there are so many creative amazing people in columbus who would like an affordable space to create. it feels frustrating there are so many haters out there.
Wonderland is going to spay cats?

Don't let it get you too frustrated. In the grander scheme of things, these type of comments and these types of people don't really matter. They've made it clear that Wonderland isn't something they'll support, but they're also not going to go out of their way to protest it either.
Keep on keepin' on, Wonderland team!
Ameriflora was sweet. I went twice and really liked it. There was a piece of the Berlin Wall there.

It was a reference to the wide variety of things that people want to use the space for. That original list of 1000+ ideas has been daunting to dig through...
At the end of this month... we will be releasing our guidelines information.... a document that has been being developed over the past 4 months through community focus groups. When the document comes out, we will be asking people to read through it and make more specific proposals for spaces within the building. We have narrowed and identified the types of spaces, the locations of the spaces, and the number of any one type of space we will have make up the building. If everything goes as planned, starting in March, we will begin to hold interviews to start selecting tenants.
We would like to have majority of the tenants determined so that the programming for the facility can be developed hand in hand with both tenants and users. We are making sure to speak with strategic partners community wide as we develop the plan and that this will be something long lasting.
We are also debating whether we should have a "Topix Auditorium" or a "Topix Night". It is a big debate as we decide whether haters should be part of our tenant base or part of our programming. Wonderland vote on this one comes never.
Oh... and I was told that Ameriaflora was a mindwashing effort by the U.N. and FEMA to get creative individuals to support wrecking the economy and promote childhood obesity.
That Topix site has some really useful info on it.

you are so right walker:)
Yeah, HW Bush gave the opening address for it. I remember watching it on TV. The news then did a story about how Amerifloria will help local businesses, they interviewed my grandparents who owned Rosati's and my grandma said she didn't want anybody taking their parking spaces.
Who is doing the opening address for Wonderland?
We had an Ameriflora flag hanging in the window at Rosati's too. It was an exciting time on the Eastside. The Gus Macker events brought alot of excitement too, we sold lots of gatorade those days.
I was intrigued by the mention of a brewery in the space.
I was recently in Ashville, NC and visited a brewery called The Wedge
that was at one side of a huge old warehouse turned multi-use arts space in a pretty run down industrial area.
It was a small, really laid back place that the artists hung out at, but also that drew tourists to come
check out an area that was off the beaten path. There were other studio garage doors open/ other artists events happening at the same time. Really cool.
Anyways, all really exciting stuff!
Is a coworking space still part of the plan? And, if so, is there an application timeline to reserve coworking space?
Is it true Adam smokes a lot of pot? (topix)
