The facts are that months go by without a peep out of Wonderland. We're in such a lull now. There was that fancy breakdown of the project status back in March... then nothing.
Someone will ask publicly and kick up some knee-jerk activity on their part... then silent for months again. It is getting comical.
It has been a year since the blunder with the Wonderbread building. We've been hearing for quite some time that they've narrowed it down to 2 buildings.
Well? What's the holdup? What's going on? With no events forthcoming, no updates or information, and no actual project shaping up are people still actually contributing money to this project.

In this case I get the sense that no news is, in fact, not good news.
Almost September... hell... almost 2013. Where the hell is the Wonderland? Where is the building? (They had it narrowed down to two buildings as of about 9 months ago, right?)
Yet Wonderland is paying their taxes late under protest (after public shaming) and somehow still managing to sponsor events... like Independents' Day 2012. What gives?
Let's not forget to hold the Board Members fiscally, legally, and personally responsible for this mess (the worst of which is still yet to come)- their judgement, or lack thereof, made all of this possible:

The Wonderbread Building (pictured) is in the process of being converted to apartments. Far from "dead".

No one is suggesting that the Wonderbread building isn't being developed. Clearly it is. Luckily Kevin Lykens ditched the losers associated with Wonderland and is making something good happen at that property.
That said- the topic of conversation is about the hopelessly broken "nonprofit" that is Wonderland Columbus- an organization that is largely missing in action these days.
No news. No updates. No building. No impact locally... what the hell is going on with this organization? Many people would like some closure on the matter by seeing Wonderland Columbus dissolved for good.

Anyone know how Kevin Lykens was involved in this? I see LS Development Systems, I'm assuming that's him, bought the property for $800k in april 2010, 4 months after the wonderland columbus project was announced. Was he trying to be a broker? Or did he see it as an opportunity?
edit: never mind. Columbus business first does a pretty good job of answering my question

All trolling and name calling aside, and I ask this from a place of pure neutrality I assure you, does anyone have any idea what's going on with Wonderland Columbus?
I understand they don't want to (sorry for the figure of speech but) prematurely blow their load like they did the first time around but I don't think they're helping their cause by going the complete opposite route and not saying anything for almost the entire year of 2012.
Are people still working on the project? Are they still negotiating on that building in Franklinton and that's why they have to keep quiet? Are they still taking donations? A project update might make an interesting Columbus Underground article hint hint Walker.
Projects succeed and projects fail, this I know. But this is one of the only public projects of this scale I've seen just completely go silent. Doesn't anyone else find this the least bit odd?

Last I checked in with them (not too long ago) they were still looking at multiple buildings and didn't want to publicly comment on negotiations until they have a building 100% secured.
Rest assured, we'll be doing an article on CU as soon we have news on the project to share. And I'll continue to check in with them every month or two as I have been doing all year.

Not really. There were several projects/concepts/ideas announced in the 2010 Downtown Development Plan in early 2010 that we've not heard any updates on in two and a half years. The Field House for example...
