Oh, yeah. Great to see JR Celski medal after that horrible accident he had in September. Women's moguls were insane last night!

Waiting till Tuesday for the Curling round robin to start. Excited to watch Martin skip the Canadian men's rink.

those Koreans basically knocked that USA skater out of the way, then ended up wrecking themselves.
serves them right.
who was that speed skater guy from the US that came from behind and blew them all away at the end?
he took them all on the outside,he was flying!!.Posted 2 years ago # -
That short track final was pretty crazy. The women's moguls were fun to watch also.

I like the winter Olympics (although not nearly as much as the summer ones), but I don't understand how things are scored, even a little bit. Like for instance, the ski jump is judged? Why? Can't they just do it based on distance?
And the mogul judging is not just judging the jumps, but also the form on the moguls? And the score is some sort of combination of time and judging score? I don't get it.
I like the speed skating. The short track is exciting to watch.

I am totally addicted to winter Olympics - and tend to prefer them over the summer ones. I was in Vancouver a couple winters ago, and stayed near the water where they were building some of the big pavillions, and it's awesome to see them completed, and integrated into the waterfront. It's like an advertisement for Canada.
I will watch it all - curling, all forms of skiing and snowboarding, skating (figure, speed and short track), even the Nordic combined (GO USA!)....
@honavery - The moguls are scored in three parts - 50% is the technique of taking the moguls themselves (no breaks in the knees, still upper body), 25% is the aerial and the other 25% is the speed.

Caught about 3 ends of the German-US curling. Our men don't look good. I'll be surprised if they make medal round.
Really disappointed NBC coverage is going to focus almost exclusively on the American team. Canada-Norway would have been fun to watch with almost the entire Canadian team curling 90% accurate. Sweden-UK would have been good as well with the Swedish upset.

I can understand covering the Americans, but with 5 networks involved, NBC should be able to show more events/nations than the token American who finishes 17th in the men's biathalon.

With Curling they play 10 ends, with every team playing at once. It wouldn't be hard to cover it like golf, going back and forth between sheets. Maybe stay for a few ends if the game gets really good. When I was watching, they did cut over to about 2 minutes of the UK-Sweden game. Looks like I will have to rely on replays and online streams to watch the other teams. If I can ever get it set up.
Watching Schuster dick around the entire time was not pleasant.

I would have much more respect for NBC if they didn't show so much figure skating.
I also hope that they don't f-up the coverage of the men's hockey tournament.

Try getting on the online live stream. I've got the Canadians going in one window and US in the other.

Poor, poor Lindsey Jacobelli. All that redemption hype and didn't even finish the semifinal. And poor, poor NBC for their failed narrative about the whole thing. That's what happens when you put all your eggs in one basket. One very stoned basket.
Really the olympics for me have become like NASCAR - I watch it for the crashes.
and I'm really sick of shaun white.
