Got it last night.
I didn't even hear about it, and just so happen to be at Meijer at midnight when they began selling it. Apparently, they only had 15 per store.
I tried it out this morning, and it told me I am overweight and gave my mii a giant beer bell. Really demoralizing.

I refuse to have sex with my Wii.
Not your Wii silly, it will be something completely new and you do not have to purchase it if you do not want to...plus you have a hot girlfriend, you do not need it.
anyone yet?!? a small review?
I was doing some of the balance games tonight (at 2:30am) and actually broke a sweat. Some of the strength exercises are difficult, like the pushup/plank. But then again, I am a tubby lardass...the system gave me the beergut as well...it actually knows me.
2 more weeks of working out with Wii Fit, then I can eat the giant hamburger at Gahanna Grill...it's worth it.
How are you guys liking the Wii Fit? I just bought my Wii today - and want to get the Wii Fit for the Ski Games. Let me know if you think it's worth it :) thanks!
I heard from an inside source that Targets got shipments of them this week maybe 5-6 a store and will put them out Sunday morning!

If you guys knew Chester, you'd know how incredibly comical this is. I'm not convinced that he has a pound of body fat to call his own.
As of 5pm today - there are 5 Wii's at the Game Stop on Tuttle Blvd in Dublin. $249. No Wii Fit's tho
I thought I'd post a mini review. The wife got this for her birthday 7/11. I am fairly active and do hit the gym regularly, so some of the introductory activities seem a little low impact to me. That being said, I really enjoy the Wii fit for days I can't hit the gym. It has a nice balance of yoga poses, strength training excercises and aerobic activities that can work up a sweat. The wife prefers the balance games, which are great for working on your balance, but I don't really see them as very useful for losing weight/getting in shape. Lastly, Wii Fit is best with a number of other people because every activity gives you a score based on how well you performed and then ranks you on a top ten list. I find great motivation trying to beat the wife's scores on things just for in house bragging rights.
My friend recently got a Wii fit and I've been playing although the power outage set me back. It is really fun and the strength training exercises can actually give you some sore muscles. I would suggest hula hooping your heart out for 6 or 10 minutes for a serious sweat breaker.
My mii looks super skinny, but the way the characters look, her legs are little twigs and then her midsection looks fat in comparison. I got on my friend's back to weigh in our Star Jones character. She weighs 300 lbs.

The boxing that comes with Wii Sports gives you a real workout too. Even the drumming in Rock Band can make you break a sweat. I'm loving my Wii Fit, though - it keeps me honest, and is pretty fun. Although it is kind of demoralizng to hear "you're obese" every time I hop on it. ;)
I've got to admit I'm pretty excited to see the Shaun White snowboarding game that's coming out. It uses the balance board, and apparently teh controls are pretty responsive.
Yeah it told my bf that he was just on the overweight side, then he lost 1lb by the next time he weighed in and it told him he was normal. I guess that can be part of the motivation though, thinking of the day it will weigh you and give you a better answer. He doubts that it can actually help you lose weight but some of the activities are strenuous. It's more active than watching TV so I'm all for it.
I haven't tried boxing yet, but I'm dreading it cause I have weak arms.
Last week I ordered Wii Fit via Circuit city on line. They don't always have it available and the catch is you have to buy some accessories. But, given that it was never in stock anywhere, it was well worth it.
Anyways, I just set it up and spent a good hour with it. The first thing it does is weighs you, calculates BMI and Wii Age. I am only a tad overweight (182lbs, 5ft 11in) and 8 years older than I should be (Wii age).....which segways into setting up goals where it tracks everything. Over time you will have data to analyze your progress or lack thereof.
I am very impressed with this technology and I see an awesome future for lots of applications.
In short, after one work out, I had a blast, was actually laughing out loud (soccer ball balance game). I sampled everything but the yoga only cause I ran out of time. This system could be all you need to stay in shape, IMO. (strength, aerobics, balance, stretching)
Are these still hard to come by? Planning to buy this as a Christmas present - but I'm video-game challenged - I've never so much as owned an Atari.
What peripherals are required, and what games/exercise activities does it come with? What's a fair price? Can you play regular Wii games on a Wii Fit?
still sold out at target all the time. I check everytime I happen to be in there.
