Over on another thread, Comfest organizer Don Morris laced up his jackboots and demanded that anyone who has a problem with Comfest keep their filthy mouths geschlossen.
Well I say to heck with that! This thread is about letting your freak flag fly, and talking about your issues with Comfest--especially if you aren't going. (shhh let's keep this a secret)

Okay I'll start
-It's too crowded, but they refuse to find a bigger venue
-Bad for dogs!
-If I wanted to see topless old fat guys I'd hang out at a campus bar
-If I wanted to see a bunch of undercover police officers I'd hang out at a campus bar
-The barbecue pit is really smoky and smoke gets in my eyes and whoever I'm with makes fun of me because it looks like I'm crying and then I actually start crying because I keep telling them to shut up and they won't.
-Six stages means you can't clearly hear the music at any one stage.

Okay looks like I got beaten by JonMyers and vestanpance, but this is a sub-thread about why you should go to Origins Game Fair instead. I'LL START:
-Indoors! No sunburn
-Air conditioning
-Liquor served
-Dogs welcome! Bring your dogs!!
-Everyone loves cosplay
-Steve Jackson Games
-Arguably more H.P. Lovecraft-related items per square foot
-Endless stream of nerds means an endless stream of free lunch money!

I'll be in Chicago. I've been out of town Comfest weekend for the 3 years I've lived in Columbus. I can't stand bumbling around in huge crowds though, especially when it's hot.

I love the idea of a neighborhood event centered around music. However, its not my kind of music and not my scene. Which is totally fine. So I'll be heading to cedar point to coaster. I didn't plan ahead for the USA game, but I'm sure Jon & Omar will hold down the fort.
