Who on CU is a vegetarian? I am always interested in why people are vegetarian. Tom Regan is probably my favorite philosopher regarding animal rights. I saw him give a lecture in Athens about the three types of vegetarians.
1. Da Vincians, who inherently respect animals
2. Demascans, who are converted through some event or epiphany
3. Muddlers, who need proof in order to change their minds and become a vegetarian kicking and screaming the whole way
I am definitely a muddler and doubt if I will ever be a vegetarian (wow, do I love sushi and Memphis ribs.) I only buy what I consider humanely treated meat and wild fish that according to what I read is not overfished. What kind are you?
