...and why is he obsessed with having his picture taken?

I was watching some friends play softball at Whetstone last summer when a man walked up to me and pointed at my camera and then to himself. I got the idea and took his picture. After looking at it and nodding his head in approval he wandered off.

I posted the photo on Flickr and haven't thought much of it until today when I was informed that this man has his own Flickr group.

So, now I am curious if anyone else has photos of this man and if anyone knows who he is and why he is obsessed with having his photo taken by strangers.

Oh, crazy. I've taken his picture twice. Once, at Comfest two years ago, and then at last year's Parking Lot Blow Out. Pretty much the same scenario you described occurred both times; I, too, am intrigued by this guy.

I used to see him a lot around Vic Village and the Short North, then he kind of disappeared. Then I moved to Grandview, and I see him around here a lot, so I guess we both moved over here.

Geez. I don't who he is, but he's jumped in front of my cameras over the years too. He seems to find me at every parade, every festival, every gallery hop. lol

Ha I knew who this thread was about before even seeing the picture. I took a picture of him at Doo Dah per his request a bunch of years ago.

Exposed? He flashed people or what? I thought it was kind of cool, but I want to make sure I'm not reading what I think you're saying before I public state that this anonymous picture taking is cool.

See him around Grandview a lot. I always assumed he is a resident of a group home in the area.

I used to see him all the time in Used Kids before they moved upstairs (around 2000). For some unbeknownst reason, they called him Fingers. He'd go up to the counter with a bunch of 45s and slam a handful of change on the counter. Then the bargaining commenced. Whoever was working would shake their heads and pick out a stack to put back. Then Fingers would pull out a couple & back and forth they'd go. It was pretty comical watching him try to buy like 20 or 30 records for $0.58.

that's exactly how he approached me at taste of grandview last year.

Lakee911, I was in a restaurant in the SN and the waitress ran this man out of there because he had previously exposed himself. I heard a similar story from another person in the restaurant industry.

That is 'Chilly Al'. I used to work with him at Gottlieb's on West 5th Ave. He is very friendly. I never knew him to do anything inappropriate. Hi likes to tweak noses.
