290-pound man sues White Castle because he can’t fit into booth

A New York man has sued White Castle, charging discrimination because none of the booths at a restaurant he frequented were large enough to fit his 6-foot, 290-pound body.

Martin Kessman of Suffern, N.Y., says he experienced pain and embarrassment at a White Castle restaurant in Nanuet, N.Y., when he couldn’t fit into the booths while dining with friends.

I don't quite fit comfortably into the driver seat of my girlfriend's honda civic at 6'1 175. Im sueing.

If you no longer fit in the booth, you might really want to reconsider eating at the Castle. Even by my low standards that's not healthy.

Table size restriction seems like a great warning system... like the "if you aren't this tall you can't go on this ride" sign at amusement parks. Although I admit, if this guy is 290 and 6'10" I'd probably have a bit of a different opinion about this whole thing than if he's 5'10".

If other WC locations have larger booths, then what's his complaint other than having to go to another location? Being humiliated because of being too big for that location where his friends are? Then what happens with a seat in an airplane or a theater?

Face it, you're big. Might as well paint yourself green, and skip the time-consuming judicial system and secure remedies on your own terms.

According to the article this guy is 6'0 not 6"10. Definately a difference. 6'10 290 is almost skinny,6'0 290 is one big dude.Either way I would think it would be ridiculous if either person tried to sue. I wear size 14 shoes so maybe I should sue finish line for not keeping my pumas or nikes in stock.

I'm fascinated by the mindset that has to exist when you go to sit down in a booth at a fast food joint, find that your giant gut doesn't fit, and decide its clearly an issue with booth size.

Yeah, because launching a frivolous lawsuit over being too fat to fit in a booth, with national media coverage, is way less embarrassing.
