I know most private practices in order to see them you have to make an appointment two weeks in advance. I need one that’ll see me within a week, at the earliest.
Since I’m on a fixed income, I need one that has billing based on income.
Any leads would be great! ~Thanks

Anne & I have been seeing Dr. David Szana of Capital City Dental on Thurman (GV/MV area) for a few years now. Very nice guy, and while I'm not sure about the financial stuff, their website makes it sound like they'd be willing to work with you on that sort of thing:

Wouldn't hurt to give them a call.

Whittaker Dental is one I go too, up in Clintonville (near Bishop Watterson H.S. and Park of Roses)...

OSU Dental should be the cheapest by far, but they usually have at least a 2 week wait.

I just started going to Grandview Dental Care this week. About a week wait between initial contact and first appointment (of many sadly w/in the month). Can't say I know anything about the financial aspects, but they did seem to offer some sort of financing.

Definitely Dr. Seghal at Central Ohio Dental Associates. Open 7 days a week, have evening hours, caters to pussies like me who have severe dental phobias (I have to be on major Valium even for a simple teeth cleaning). They can usually get you in real quickly.
Not sure of the financial aspects (we have dental insurance), you'll definitely want to call the office directly for more information on that.

Thank you so much swampkitty, I just came back from Central Ohio Dental Associates with S. Sehgal.
I actually had a good experence and the outcome wasn't as bad as I thought. Very nice, thorough, professtional and informative. I actually learned some good things rather than been put down about my bad habits. I will go again and refer anyone to him. Which is a first for me to EVER say about any dentist.
~Thanks again!!! =^_^=Posted 2 years ago # -

Here's their web page: http://www.centralohiodentalassociates.com/Dr. Sehgal is great. He moved into the old Uno's Pizza building on 161. His new office looks really sharp.
I was a previous patient of his, and lost contact when he moved and I changed insurance companies years ago. I "refound" him recently when my most recent dentist left on maternity leave.
He's a great guy who thrives on helping his fellow man.

I have dental insurance also, and I thought it was good. It's not bad, but doesn't cover an implant, and my god the cost! I have to check with OSU.

So I went to the dentist the other day in Downtown that shall remain nameless. The experience was all sorts of crap. Sometimes I feel like dentists are used car salesmen or like an auto repair shop always trying to up sell you and tell you that it’s important to get needless things done. Anyone else ever get that feeling from a dentist.
I will explain
So I go to the Dentist for my six month cleaning I switched up to be closer to work and not have to travel as much. So I get there fill out the paper work and get placed in the chair. They take some x-rays and the hygienist comes in. Right off the top she starts talking about a deep cleaning. She says it’s necessary for good teeth and that I really need it and she could show me as soon as my x-rays come back. So we wait and my x-rays return she starts pointing to my gums and says well they look fine but I still recommend the deep cleaning instead of a regular cleaning. I asked her why and she said it’s good for the teeth. But if my teeth are fine why? Right
Then she says oh you have wisdom teeth I see. Why yes I do I have had them for about ten years I reply. To which she says well we will have to see about having those removed so they don’t cause issue and get infected. !?!?!?!?!? What I have had them for a long time there is also no signs of infection on my x-rays.
After an hour of all this recommending of stuff she says well were out of time you will have to reschedule to come back and have a regular teeth cleaning.
So I really just took off work to sit and listen to someone feed my a line of shit and didn’t even get my teeth clean. It really sucks has anyone else ever felt like a dental office was just trying to up sell a situation ?Posted 2 years ago # -

What about dentists that will put you under?

I love Dr. Carole Kelley at Hilliard Dental Associates. I don't know much about the financial stuff, either, but her rates were REALLY reasonable. She's a neat lady, too.
I do not recommend Grove City Family Dentistry. I felt totally screwed every time I left there. Their billing practices seemed really shady and I always left having to pay much more than I was told I would have to pay.

What about dentists that will put you under?I have never had to have any dental work to be put under for. I take pretty good care of my teeth and I have had cavities 5 total and only one time did I use Novocain. All the other times I didn’t and it was not too bad. I have a pretty high tolerance for pain. If I ever had to get something like a root canal I would most likely want something. lol

Not really close to downtown, but Dr Robert George on E. Broad past Mt. Carmel is great. I've been seeing him or his associates since my teeth first came in.

What about dentists that will put you under?I've had a couple of visits to Oak Creek Dental on Shrock near Cleveland, and they practice sedation dentistry. Most insurances won't cover it, and I think they said it is around $400. I opted for nitrous instead of sedation, and the nitrous was free. They were nice enough to give me some quality time with it before they started my dental work. :-)

Thanks for the tip. I'm due for a dental visit and the $400 would be money well spent.

If you are worried about that you might want to consider the use of Drugs.
I go to Marrion Village Dental and the dentist gives me a prescription for a drug that makes all the difference.Used to be I would just about pass out when they came at me with the novocaine. At the end of the session I would be drenched with sweat and my hands hurt from grabbing the chair.
You take the pills 90 minutes before you go in. You feel like you are a little drunk without the stomach ache or dizzy feeling. Most people bring an iPod or something to watch TV on.
The first time I went in I watched Hulu on my netbook. The second time I didn't bring my netbook and they had to keep waking me up.
You have to have someone drive you there and pick you up, but I highly recommend it. Side affects of the drug are euphoria, poor judgement, decreased inhibitions and an increased sexual desire. (basically college in a pill!)
