Search under file and about 5 choices come up.
Blue Turtle Tea and Spice Company in old Westerville stocks it, and is a great place to catch a meal. Check out their menu on the site.

Well lookie there. I might make the trip for that...once I figure out exactly where in the world Westerville is. I can't say I find much reason to go there, but I'll give this a whirl.

Ok, ok...but if you find me some sassyfrassy leaves, I'll try it. Then I can do a gumbo taste test...homemade file vs store bought...
Fiiiiiiiiiiiiiine.
Take a walk around the inner path at Schiller Park. There are two small sassafrass trees on the east side.
I have bought file at the Grandview Giant Eagle. I believe they have it in the seafood department near the live lobster tank.
Just remember lew -- stir, stir, stir, stir......till your arm falls off. Then use the other arm.
