Spacerglnr's post READ IT HERE from CBUS magazine brings up an interesting point. The Mayor apparently wants to rename the streetcar something else than "streetcar". What do you think it should be named?

C-BUS, but it is not really a bus it is a street car :lol: Seriously, after spending the past several days in SF using their awesome systems, it makes me so frustrated that Columbus doesn't do something. Maybe the City could get OSU to fund such a project? They always seem to have plenty of money laying around for extra projects.

Driving into Toronto a few months ago and seeing the wind turbine on the lake I thought about how cool it would be to have one here powering our streetcar system. Get AEP to buy a couple wind turbines to put over by COSI, in return the system could be called "CBUS, powered by clean AEP wind power". The city could buy the power at market rate, but the city would get to sell the system as totally green and AEP would get the publicity.

i know a lot of people on these boards hate on the "CBUS" name.
Perhaps if we call our streetcar line CBUS ppl will stop calling the city itself that.

Agreed, and although I too normally hate the CBUS thing...I think in this case, it is pretty damn catchy. You've got the "bus" tie in, the whole C-BUS (like A-TRAIN), and the pretty damn sharp acronym.
I'm sold.

Naming a streetcar with the word "bus" would only confuse people.
It would kind of like an Abbot and Costello skit: "Where do I find the streetcar stop?" "The BUS stops here" "But I want the streetcar." "That's what I said..." "No you said bus." "Yes, the BUS stops here." " But I want the streetcar...."
Yea, that'll work.
